How does Job Puffin work?

  1. Tell us what you're after

Upload your CV and describe the role you want: the kind of work, the terms, where, and anything that's a must.

  2. Send a LinkedIn search

Install the Chrome extension, run a jobs search on LinkedIn and press Send all: every posting on the page comes over in one go, with the people named on it.

  3. Read the best fits first

Every job is scored against your CV and what you're after, best first, with the reasons. Add the ones worth applying for to your pipeline and skip the rest.

Why a job ranks where it does

Open any job for its assessment: a score on each of seven criteria with the sentence it followed from, and a word on whether to apply and what to lead with.

Rated on seven criteria

  • Seniority and level
  • Career direction
  • Skills and tools
  • Evidence in the CV
  • Experience and domain
  • Working arrangement and terms
  • Application competitiveness

The overall is their weighted mean. A must in what you're after that a posting contradicts is a dealbreaker, called out beside the score and never averaged into it, and the job drops below the rest.

An example assessment, for illustration.

Apply. Lead with the app sign-up campaign and the paid social budget you ran, and add a line on working with content teams to cover the move from retail into broadcasting.

  • Seniority and level

A marketing manager leading a team of three, the level you have held for three years; owning the channel budget outright is a small step up from what you run now.

  • Career direction

It keeps you in consumer marketing and moves you towards the audience and content work your last two roles leaned into, which is where your target points.

  • Skills and tools

The screen is multi-channel campaign planning, paid social and audience data in GA4, all of which you have run at scale. Their CRM is Salesforce Marketing Cloud; yours was Braze, a close neighbour.

  • Evidence in the CV

Your CV names the campaigns, the budgets and the results, the 32% lift in app sign-ups among them. It could say more about briefing agencies, which the posting mentions twice.

  • Experience and domain

Broadcasting is new to you, with your experience in retail and ecommerce. The audience-growth focus carries over, but expect questions on working alongside editorial teams.

  • Working arrangement and terms

Permanent and hybrid, two days a week in Salford, at £56,000 to £62,000: inside Manchester, permanent and your floor of £55k.

  • Application competitiveness

The role will draw a lot of applicants, but you meet every essential and most of the desirables, and measured results put you in the strong part of the pile.

Fewer, better applications

We think a search goes further when every application is one you meant. Job Puffin does the sorting and leaves the applying to you.

  • You apply, it doesn't

No auto-apply and no form filling. One considered application to a job that fits does more than fifty sent blind; the pipeline keeps track of yours.

  • Your words, sent by you

The message to a contact is a draft in your name, for you to read, change and send yourself.

  • Every score shows its reasons

Each rating comes with the sentence it followed from, so you can weigh it and disagree with it.

  • Your data is for your search

Your profile and your postings rate your jobs and nothing else. They are not shared, sold or used to train anything.

Questions

Does it apply for jobs for me?
No. Job Puffin ranks the jobs and keeps track of the ones you pursue; the applications are yours to make. It drafts an introduction to the people named on a posting, which you read, change and send yourself.
Is Job Puffin affiliated with LinkedIn?
No. It is an independent product made by Benns Software Ltd. The Chrome extension reads a posting from the LinkedIn page you have open, only when you press Send, and reads nothing else on LinkedIn.
Which AI rates my jobs?
DeepSeek's model, given your profile, what your search is after and the posting. It scores each of the seven criteria with a note on why; the overall is their weighted mean, worked out by Job Puffin rather than asked of the model. The privacy policy lists exactly what DeepSeek receives.
Is my CV stored?
No. A CV you upload is read for its text, which is used to write your profile, and then discarded. The profile is kept, for you to read and edit, and it is what your jobs are rated against.
Does it work on my phone?
The app does, in any browser. Sending jobs from LinkedIn needs the Chrome extension, and extensions run on a computer only: desktop Chrome, or another Chromium browser such as Edge or Brave.
